Description

A refreshing and easy-to-make Apple Cider Float featuring creamy vanilla bean ice cream and cold apple cider, garnished with apple slices, cinnamon stick, star anise, and optional cinnamon sugar for a cozy, autumn-inspired treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (8 ounces)
  • 1 cup Cold Apple Cider or sparkling apple cider

Garnishes

  • Cinnamon Sugar (optional garnish)
  • Red Apple Slices
  • Cinnamon Stick
  • Whole Star Anise

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Glass: Place the vanilla bean ice cream into a tall glass, filling it about two-thirds full to create the perfect base for the float.
  2. Add the Apple Cider: Slowly pour the cold apple cider over the ice cream. If using sparkling apple cider, pour gently to control the bubbles and prevent overflow.
  3. Garnish: Arrange red apple slices into a fan shape and place them on top or along the side of the glass. Add a cinnamon stick and a whole star anise for fragrance and visual appeal. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar down the side of the glass and over the top if desired.
  4. Serve: Serve the float immediately to enjoy the creamy texture and fizzy cider combination at their best.

Notes

  • Do not store the float once assembled; serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
  • Prepare garnishes, chill the cider and glasses in advance to save time, but assemble the float just before serving.
  • To make an apple fan, slice several thin, even apple slices, stack them, fan out the top slices, and secure with a cocktail pick.
  • Use longer cinnamon sticks for tall glasses and shorter ones for smaller cups for optimal presentation.
  • Choose regular or sparkling cider based on your preference; sparkling adds bubbles while regular cider offers a smoother texture.
  • For an adult version, add a splash of spiced rum, bourbon, or Fireball before pouring in the cider.
  • Enhance the float with whipped cream, caramel drizzle, a pinch of nutmeg, or even a mini donut on top for extra indulgence.
