Description

Chocolate Lasagna is a rich, layered no-bake dessert featuring a crushed Oreo cookie crust, creamy cream cheese and Cool Whip filling, instant pudding layers, and topped with more Oreo crumbles and chocolate syrup for an indulgent treat perfect for parties or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust Layer

  • 14.3 ounces package Oreo cookies regular, not double stuffed
  • ½ cup melted margarine or butter

Cream Cheese Layer

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 8 ounces Cool Whip softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Pudding Layer

  • 5.1 ounces box instant vanilla pudding
  • 5.1 ounces box instant chocolate pudding
  • 3 cups milk

Top Layer

  • 8 ounces Cool Whip softened
  • 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies (reserved from crust)
  • Chocolate syrup as needed
  • Optional: chocolate curls or favorite chocolate candy, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crust: Add whole Oreos to a food processor and pulse until the crumbles are even. Set aside one cup of crushed Oreos for topping. Mix the remaining crushed Oreos with half a cup of melted margarine or butter until evenly combined. Pat this mixture firmly onto the bottom of a 9×13 inch pan and place it in the refrigerator to chill for 10-20 minutes to set the crust.
  2. Make the Cream Cheese Layer: In a mixing bowl, combine 8 ounces of softened cream cheese, 8 ounces of softened Cool Whip, and 1 cup powdered sugar. Mix until smooth and creamy. Spread this mixture evenly over the chilled Oreo crust. Return the pan to the refrigerator for 10-20 minutes to let the layer set.
  3. Prepare the Pudding Layer: In a separate bowl, whisk together one package of instant vanilla pudding mix and one package of instant chocolate pudding mix with 3 cups of cold milk until the mixture thickens. Spread this pudding layer evenly over the cream cheese layer in the pan.
  4. Add the Top Layer: Spread the remaining 8 ounces of softened Cool Whip evenly over the pudding layer. Sprinkle the reserved one cup of crushed Oreo cookies over the top. Drizzle a light layer of chocolate syrup over the entire dessert. Optionally, garnish with chocolate curls or chopped favorite chocolate candies.
  5. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the layered dessert until fully chilled and set, about 30 minutes or longer. Cut into 12 servings and enjoy.

Notes

  • Allow each layer to chill in the refrigerator for about 10-20 minutes to help create distinct layers and the characteristic lasagna appearance.
  • If you don’t have a food processor to crush the Oreos, place them in a large Ziploc bag and crush with a rolling pin to desired texture.
  • Try adding mix-ins like M&M’s, nuts, or other candies for added texture and flavor variations.
  • Store leftovers covered tightly in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
  • For longer storage, freeze the dessert in an airtight container or freezer bag for 2-3 months, thawing before serving in the refrigerator.
