Description

Delight in this festive Christmas Gumdrop Nougat Candy recipe that combines chewy marshmallows, creamy white chocolate, and colorful Dots candy to create a sweet treat perfect for holiday gatherings and gift-giving.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 10 ounces Dots Candy
  • 1 10-ounce bag mini marshmallows
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 ¾ cups white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pan: Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper and set aside to ensure easy removal of the candy later.
  2. Melt White Chocolate: Place the white chocolate chips in a small, microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high for 2 minutes and 30 seconds, stirring every 30 seconds to prevent overheating, until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
  3. Heat Marshmallows and Butter: In a medium mixing bowl, combine mini marshmallows and unsalted butter, then microwave on high for 2 minutes or until the marshmallows have puffed to the top of the bowl. Remove and stir until the butter has fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
  4. Combine Chocolate and Marshmallow Mixture: Quickly add the melted white chocolate to the marshmallow mixture and stir quickly but thoroughly until well combined.
  5. Add Most of the Dots Candy: Stir in all except ⅓ cup of the Dots candy, evenly distributing the candy throughout the nougat mixture.
  6. Pour and Spread Mixture: Immediately pour the nougat mixture into the prepared pan, spray your hands with cooking spray, and spread it evenly to fill the pan.
  7. Decorate: Press the remaining ⅓ cup of Dots candy onto the top of the nougat, filling in any gaps to create a colorful holiday appearance.
  8. Set: Allow the nougat to cool and set for approximately 4 hours and 25 minutes before cutting into 12 servings.

Notes

  • Use cooking spray on your hands to prevent the sticky nougat from adhering while spreading.
  • If Dots candy is unavailable, substitute with any small, chewy, colorful gummy candies.
  • For easier cutting, chill the nougat in the refrigerator after setting at room temperature.
  • Ensure to stir the white chocolate frequently when microwaving to avoid burning and achieve a smooth texture.
  • Store the candy in an airtight container to maintain freshness for up to one week.
