Description

Christmas Puppy Chow is a festive, sweet treat made with chocolate, peanut butter, and Chex cereal, coated in powdered sugar and sprinkled with holiday M&M's. Perfect for sharing at holiday parties or enjoying as a seasonal snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Mixture

  • 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ⅓ cup butter
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Cereal Mix

  • 9 cups rice Chex cereal
  • 3 cups confectioners sugar

Extras

  • 1 cup holiday M&M’s

Instructions

  1. Melt Chocolate and Peanut Butter: Add the chocolate chips and peanut butter to a large, microwave-safe bowl and heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each until the mixture is smooth and the chocolate has melted. Stir in melted butter and vanilla extract.
  2. Coat the Cereal: Add the Chex cereal to the bowl and gently toss to coat each piece with the chocolate mixture, being careful not to break the cereal.
  3. Coat with Powdered Sugar: Spoon the coated cereal into a large zip-top bag. Pour the confectioners sugar into the bag, seal it tightly, and gently shake to coat the cereal evenly. Repeat in batches if necessary.
  4. Add Holiday M&M’s and Serve: Pour the coated cereal into a serving bowl, add the holiday M&M’s, mix lightly, and enjoy immediately or store for later.
