Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 1 box Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes (5 cakes)
- 8 ounces white chocolate or candy melts
Decorations
- 3 tablespoons festive sprinkles
- 3 tablespoons red candy melts (optional, for drizzling)
- Green sanding sugar for decoration
Instructions
- Prepare the Cake Crumbs: Unwrap the Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes and place them in a large bowl. Using a handheld mixer, mix the cakes until a crumbly dough forms, then stir in the festive sprinkles evenly.
- Form Truffle Balls: Scoop the cake mixture using a tablespoon and roll each portion between your palms to form balls. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Repeat until all dough is used.
- Melt White Chocolate: Melt the white chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl using 30-second increments, stirring between each until smooth, or melt over a double boiler.
- Coat the Truffles: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each cake ball into the melted white chocolate, coating it completely. Allow excess chocolate to drip off, then return them to the baking sheet.
- Melt Red Candy Melts: Place red candy melts in a piping or ziplock bag and microwave in 30-second increments, massaging the bag in between each until fully melted.
- Decorate: Snip the tip of the bag and drizzle the red candy melts over the coated truffles. Immediately sprinkle green sanding sugar on top for a festive touch.
- Set and Serve: Allow the truffles to set by chilling them in the fridge for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your holiday treat!
Notes
- Use a handheld mixer for easier and finer cake crumb texture.
- If you don’t have festive sprinkles, colored sugar or mini holiday-themed candies work well.
- Double boiler melting prevents chocolate from burning; if using microwave, stir frequently.
- Store truffles in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week.
- For a stronger flavor, add a teaspoon of vanilla or peppermint extract to the cake crumbs.
- Red candy drizzle is optional but adds a lovely decorative touch.
