Ingredients
Scale
Steak and Vegetables
- 1 ½ pounds ribeye steak - thinly sliced (or shaved)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (or butter)
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 yellow onion - thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper - thinly sliced
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt (or to taste)
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Cheese and Buns
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- 12 slider buns
Butter Mixture
- 4 tablespoons salted butter - melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ tablespoon dried parsley
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350℉ and lightly grease or spray a baking pan or dish to prepare for baking the sliders.
- Prepare Ingredients: Thinly slice the ribeye steak, yellow onion, and green bell pepper to get them ready for cooking and assembly.
- Cook Steak: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced steak, season with ½ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon black pepper, and 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce. Cook the steak until browned and fully cooked, then remove and set aside in a bowl.
- Sauté Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the sliced green bell pepper and yellow onion. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste. Sauté until the vegetables are soft and slightly caramelized. Remove from heat.
- Assemble Sliders: Slice the slider buns horizontally, keeping the 12 buns attached as a pack. Place the bottom halves of the buns on the prepared baking dish.
- Add Fillings: Evenly spread the cooked steak over the bottom halves of the buns, then layer the sautéed onions and bell peppers on top. Add 8 slices of provolone cheese evenly over the fillings. Finally, place the top halves of the slider buns over the cheese.
- Prepare Butter Topping: Melt 4 tablespoons of salted butter and mix in 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, and ½ tablespoon dried parsley. Brush this seasoned butter mixture generously over the tops of the slider buns.
- Bake Covered: Cover the sliders with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. This allows cheese to melt and flavors to meld.
- Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking the sliders for an additional 10 minutes uncovered, to achieve a golden, slightly crispy top.
- Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven and serve warm. Enjoy your easy and flavorful Philly Cheesesteak Sliders!
Notes
- Store any leftover sliders in an airtight container or resealable bag in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
- To reheat, preheat oven to 300 degrees F and bake for 15 minutes until warmed through. Alternatively, microwave for 30-60 seconds; however, this may make the buns soggy.
- For a dairy-free option, substitute provolone cheese with a vegan cheese or omit cheese entirely.
- Use ribeye but you can substitute with sirloin or flank steak for a leaner option.
- Feel free to add hot peppers or different seasonings to taste for extra flavor.
