Description

This Garlic Bread Pizza recipe combines the irresistible flavors of garlic buttered French bread topped with classic pizza sauce, gooey mozzarella, pepperoni, and parmesan cheese. Perfect for a quick and delicious meal, this dish bakes in just 20 minutes, resulting in a golden crust and bubbly, melty cheese. Garnished with fresh parsley and optional red pepper flakes, it's a fantastic blend of comforting garlic bread and savory pizza all in one.

Ingredients

Scale

Garlic Butter

  • ½ cup salted butter softened
  • 6 garlic cloves finely minced or pressed
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

French Bread Pizzas

  • 1 pound French bread or Italian bread
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 8 ounces low-moisture mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 15 pepperoni slices
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
  • red pepper flakes optional
  • chopped fresh parsley to garnish, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 400℉ and line a sheet pan with parchment paper, setting it aside for the bread to bake on.
  2. Make Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, finely minced garlic, and chopped fresh parsley until well combined to create the flavorful garlic butter.
  3. Prepare Bread: Cut the French bread in half lengthwise to create two long pieces, mimicking the style of garlic bread.
  4. Apply Garlic Butter & Bake Base: Spread half of the garlic butter mixture evenly on each piece of bread. Place the bread cut side up on the prepared sheet pan and bake for 5 minutes to lightly toast it.
  5. Add Pizza Sauce: Remove the bread from the oven and spread ¼ cup of pizza sauce on each half.
  6. Add Toppings: Evenly distribute the shredded mozzarella, pepperoni slices, and parmesan cheese over the sauce on each bread piece.
  7. Bake Pizza Bread: Return the bread pizzas to the oven and bake for 15-18 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the edges of the bread turn golden brown.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the bread pizzas sit for 2-3 minutes. Garnish with optional red pepper flakes, chopped fresh parsley, and extra parmesan cheese. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use a bakery-style loaf with a soft crust for the best texture and flavor.
  • For a quick dinner, substitute frozen garlic bread and skip the garlic butter step; just add sauce, cheese, and toppings.
  • Use freshly shredded low-moisture mozzarella for optimal melt and creaminess.
  • Parmesan cheese adds extra savory depth—mix it with mozzarella for great flavor balance.
  • Red pepper flakes are optional but add a nice touch of heat if desired.
  • Letting the pizza rest after baking helps the cheese set and makes slicing easier.
