Ingredients
Scale
Lobster and Seasoning
- 4 lobster tails
- 1 ¼ teaspoon paprika, divided
- 1 ¼ teaspoon Old Bay seasoning, divided
- 1 ¼ teaspoon kosher salt, divided
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
Garlic Butter Sauce
- 1 stick (8 tablespoons) butter
- ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
- 3 cloves garlic, grated
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- To serve - lemon wedges
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the lobster tails.
- Prepare the lobster tails: Use kitchen scissors to carefully cut down the back of each lobster shell up to the tail’s base to keep the meat intact. Gently pull back the shell and lift the lobster meat out, placing it on top of the shell. Remove the black vein and rinse under cold water if necessary.
- Season the lobster: Place the lobster tails on a baking sheet fitted with a rack. In a small bowl, mix ¼ teaspoon each of paprika, Old Bay seasoning, kosher salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and ground black pepper. Evenly sprinkle this mixture over the lobster tails.
- Bake the lobster tails: Bake the seasoned lobster tails in the preheated oven for 10 minutes until the meat is just cooked through.
- Make the garlic butter sauce: While the lobster bakes, melt the butter and combine it with chopped parsley, grated garlic, lemon zest, 1 teaspoon paprika, 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning, and 1 teaspoon kosher salt. Stir well to combine all flavors.
- Apply the butter sauce: Remove 3 tablespoons of the butter sauce and set aside. Brush the remaining sauce generously over the baked lobster tails.
- Broil the lobster tails: Turn the oven broiler on high and broil the lobster tails for 3 minutes to develop a golden, slightly charred finish on top.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and drizzle the reserved garlic butter sauce over the lobster tails. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing.
Notes
- Use fresh lobsters tails for best flavor and texture.
- When cutting the shell, be careful not to cut through the tail base to keep the shape intact.
- You can substitute Old Bay seasoning with a seafood blend if unavailable.
- Serve with crusty bread or steamed vegetables to complete the meal.
- Leftover garlic butter can be stored in the fridge and used for dipping other seafood or bread.
- Broiling time is brief; watch carefully to avoid burning the butter topping.
