Description

Tender steak bites seasoned with garlic, butter, and fresh herbs, perfect for a quick and flavorful weeknight dinner. This simple recipe takes only 20 minutes and can be adapted to be Paleo, Whole30, and dairy-free by substituting butter with ghee.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1/2 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 2 pounds steak, cut into small bite-size pieces
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons butter or ghee
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • Green onion, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the steak: In a bowl, combine the steak bites with salt, freshly ground black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Stir well to ensure all the pieces are evenly coated with the seasoning.
  2. Cook the steak bites: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the avocado oil to the hot skillet and spread it evenly. Add the steak pieces in a single layer, working in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes until browned, stirring occasionally for even cooking. Remove the browned steak from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Sauté the garlic: Remove any excess water or residue left in the skillet. Add butter or ghee to the pan and let it melt over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
  4. Combine and finish cooking: Return the cooked steak bites to the skillet with the garlic butter. Cook together for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring to coat the steak thoroughly in the butter sauce. Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the chopped parsley to add freshness and color.
  5. Garnish and serve: Transfer the garlic butter steak bites to a serving plate. Garnish with chopped green onions for added flavor and visual appeal. Serve immediately to enjoy hot and juicy steak bites.

Notes

  • To make this recipe dairy-free or Whole30 compliant, substitute butter with ghee or a suitable dairy-free butter alternative.
  • If you like it spicier, increase the red pepper flakes or add a dash of cayenne pepper.
  • Be sure not to overcrowd the skillet to ensure the steak sears properly and develops a nice crust.
  • Use fresh garlic for the best flavor; avoid pre-minced garlic for optimal taste.
  • Let the steak rest a few minutes after cooking if you want juicier bites.
