Description

These oven-baked garlic parmesan wings are crispy, flavorful, and coated in a delicious garlic butter sauce with freshly grated Parmesan and parsley. Perfect for a party appetizer or game day snack, these wings use simple seasoning and baking to achieve a mouthwatering result without frying.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Rub

  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder (optional)

Chicken Wings

  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Garlic Parmesan Wing Sauce

  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Heat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius) and place a rack in the middle of the oven to ensure even baking.
  2. Prepare Seasoning: In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and baking powder if using. Stir well to mix the spices evenly.
  3. Coat Wings: Place the chicken wings in a baking dish and sprinkle the spice mixture over them. Toss or toss gently to coat the wings evenly. Drizzle the olive oil over the wings and mix again to ensure the oil and spices cover all the wings.
  4. Bake Wings: Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 45 minutes until cooked through and starting to crisp on the outside.
  5. Make Garlic Sauce: While the wings bake, melt the butter in a small pot over low heat. Add minced garlic and chopped parsley, stirring occasionally until the garlic is fragrant but not browned. Remove from heat.
  6. Apply Sauce and Parmesan: Remove the wings from the oven after 45 minutes. Pour the garlic butter sauce over the wings and sprinkle the freshly grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  7. Final Bake: Return the wings to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to allow the sauce to set and the Parmesan to brown and crisp slightly.
  8. Serve: Remove from oven and serve immediately while hot and crispy.

Notes

  • TO STORE: Transfer leftover wings into an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 4 days.
  • TO FREEZE: Place leftovers in a shallow container and store them in the freezer for up to 6 months.
  • TO REHEAT: Reheat wings in the oven or air fryer to retain crispiness. Avoid microwaving as it makes the wings soggy.
