Description

A delicious Honey Mustard Maple Glazed Ham recipe featuring a tender bone-in spiral-cut ham coated with a sweet and tangy glaze made from honey, pure maple syrup, Dijon mustard, and brown sugar. Perfect for holiday dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale

Ham

  • 8 pound bone-in spiral-cut half ham smoked or uncured

Glaze

  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • ½ cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven. Preheat your oven to 275°F to prepare for slow roasting the ham.
  2. Prepare Glaze. Combine the honey, maple syrup, and Dijon mustard in a small bowl. Whisk thoroughly until smooth. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
  3. Prepare Ham. Line a deep pan with parchment paper. Unwrap the ham from any packaging and place it flat-side down in the pan.
  4. Apply Brown Sugar. Rub the brown sugar all over the top and sides of the ham evenly to add sweetness and help caramelization.
  5. Bake Ham. Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil and bake the ham at 275°F for about 15 minutes per pound—approximately 2 hours for an 8-pound ham.
  6. Glaze and Broil. Remove the ham from the oven, uncover, and set the oven to broil. Pour the prepared glaze evenly over the ham. Return it to the oven uncovered and broil for 5-8 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning, allowing the glaze to caramelize and heat through.
  7. Serve. Remove the ham from the oven, slice, and serve warm for a tasty and festive meal.

Notes

  • Use a deep roasting pan lined with parchment paper to catch drippings and make cleanup easier.
  • The broiling step is crucial for caramelizing the glaze, but watch closely to avoid burning.
  • If your ham is larger or smaller than 8 pounds, adjust baking time accordingly (15 minutes per pound).
  • Store leftover ham in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • For a stronger mustard flavor, increase Dijon mustard slightly, or substitute with whole grain mustard for texture.
