Description

Delightfully festive Snowman Oreo Balls that combine crushed Oreos, cream cheese, and white chocolate for a creamy, crunchy treat. Topped with adorable handcrafted snowman hats made from mini Oreos and Rolos, decorated with colorful sprinkles to bring holiday cheer to any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale

Oreo Balls

  • 45 Oreo cookies (about an 18 ounce Family Size package)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 10 ounces Ghirardelli white chocolate melting wafers, divided

Snowman Hats

  • 12 mini Oreos, pulled apart
  • 24 Rolos candies, dark chocolate
  • Holly sprinkle mix
  • Snowman sprinkle mix

Instructions

  1. Prepare the workspace: Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set it aside for the Oreo balls.
  2. Crush the Oreos: Add the 45 Oreo cookies to a food processor or high-speed blender and pulse until fine crumbs form.
  3. Mix cream cheese: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened 8 ounces of cream cheese with a hand mixer on high speed until smooth and creamy.
  4. Combine Oreo crumbs and cream cheese: Add the Oreo crumbs to the cream cheese and mix on medium speed until fully combined.
  5. Form balls: Using a medium cookie scoop, portion the mixture into equal-sized balls. Roll each ball between your palms to smooth them out. Place the balls on the prepared baking tray and chill for 2 hours to firm up.
  6. Make snowman hats - melt white chocolate: Melt about ¼ cup of the 10 ounces white chocolate wafers in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each until smooth.
  7. Assemble hats: Split the 12 mini Oreos in half and scrape off the cream filling. Using a skewer, dab melted white chocolate on the flat side of an Oreo half. Immediately place a Rolo candy upside down on top. Decorate with holly sprinkle mix while the chocolate is still wet. Repeat for all hats and let set.
  8. Coat Oreo balls: Melt the remaining white chocolate wafers in the microwave at 30-second intervals until smooth. Using a fork, dip one chilled Oreo ball at a time into the melted chocolate to fully coat. Lift the fork and gently tap against the bowl to even out the coating, then place the ball back on the baking tray.
  9. Decorate faces: While the coating is still wet, quickly add the snowman sprinkle mix to create facial features: two black sugar pearl sprinkles for eyes, a carrot sprinkle for the nose, and additional black sugar pearls for the smile.
  10. Add hats: Place the pre-made snowman hats on top of each Oreo ball. If chocolate coating has set, dab a bit of melted white chocolate on top to act as glue. Hold steady for a few seconds to ensure hats stick.
  11. Set and store: Let the coated Oreo balls set completely at room temperature for about 15 minutes. Store refrigerated until ready to serve.

Notes

  • You can use any flavor of Oreos to customize the taste of your Oreo balls.
  • If Wilton’s Snowman Decorating Sprinkles are unavailable, substitute with black sugar pearls or black icing gel for eyes and smile, and an orange sprinkle or orange Tic Tac for the nose.
  • Store leftover Oreo balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days to maintain freshness.
