  • Method: Microwaving is the primary heating method, but as it isn't one of the allowed options; the fudge melting involves gentle heating in microwave-safe bowls and setting in the freezer/fridge. Since the main cooking involves no stovetop, oven, air fryer, or similar, the most fitting option is No-Cook, because the fudge is mainly melted, mixed, and set without traditional cooking.

Description

Delight in these festive Valentine Hearts Fudge, featuring layers of creamy white chocolate tinted with red food coloring and topped with heart-shaped sprinkles. Perfect for gifting or celebrating love, this easy-to-make fudge combines sweetened condensed milk and white chocolate chips for a smooth, rich treat that sets quickly in the freezer and refrigerator.

Ingredients

Scale

Red Layer

  • 2 1/4 cups white chocolate chips
  • 2/3 can sweetened condensed milk (approximately 5.33 ounces)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 10 drops red food coloring

White Layer

  • 1 1/4 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1/3 can sweetened condensed milk (approximately 2.67 ounces)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

Topping

  • 1 tablespoon heart-shaped sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pan: Line an 8x8 inch square pan with parchment paper or sprayed aluminum foil for easy removal of fudge later.
  2. Make Red Layer: Combine 2 1/4 cups white chocolate chips, 2/3 can sweetened condensed milk, and 2 tablespoons butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring after each, until melted and smooth, about 2 minutes total. Stir in 10 drops of red food coloring until evenly combined.
  3. Set Red Layer: Spoon half of the red fudge mixture into the prepared pan and smooth evenly. Freeze for a few minutes until set. Keep the remaining red fudge warm by wrapping the bowl with towels.
  4. Make White Layer: In another microwave-safe bowl, combine 1 1/4 cups white chocolate chips, 1/3 can sweetened condensed milk, and 1 tablespoon butter. Microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring after each, until fully melted and smooth, about 2 minutes.
  5. Add White Layer: Pour the white chocolate mixture over the set red layer and smooth the surface. Freeze again for a few minutes until firm.
  6. Top with Red Layer: Warm the remaining red fudge slightly to stir until smooth again. Spoon over the white layer and smooth out evenly.
  7. Chill Fudge: Cover the layered fudge with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours to fully set.
  8. Cut Hearts: Lift the fudge out using the parchment paper. Using a small heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out heart shapes on a countertop for neat, efficient cutting.
  9. Add Sprinkles and Serve: Sprinkle heart-shaped sprinkles evenly over the fudge hearts. Serve and enjoy this festive treat!

Notes

  • Use high-quality white chocolate chips for smooth melting and better texture.
  • Always use sweetened condensed milk, not evaporated milk, to ensure proper thickening and setting of fudge.
  • Be careful not to overcook fudge to avoid grainy texture.
  • Lining the pan makes lifting out and cutting the fudge much easier and tidier.
  • Store fudge in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks or freeze up to two months wrapped tightly in parchment paper and foil.
  • Allow fudge to come to room temperature before serving for a softer texture.
