Description

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with this festive Chocolate Bark featuring layers of rich dark chocolate, smooth white chocolate, and vibrant pink candy melts, all topped with colorful Valentine’s Day candy and sprinkles. This easy-to-make treat is perfect for sharing or gifting.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Base

  • 1½ cups dark chocolate chips

White Chocolate Layer

  • 12 ounces white chocolate baking bars (three 4-ounce bars)

Pink Candy Layer and Toppings

  • ¾ cup pink candy melts
  • ¼ cup Valentine’s Day candy
  • 2 tablespoons Valentine’s Day sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pan: Line a half sheet baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the edges to easily lift the bark later. Set aside.
  2. Melt Dark Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the dark chocolate chips for 30 seconds. Stir thoroughly, then continue heating in 15-20 second increments, stirring well after each interval until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
  3. Spread Dark Chocolate: Pour the melted dark chocolate onto the prepared parchment paper and spread it thinly and evenly using a spreading spatula.
  4. Set Dark Chocolate: Let the chocolate sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes until it is mostly hardened but still slightly tacky.
  5. Melt White Chocolate: Break the white chocolate bars into pieces and place them in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 30 seconds, stir well, and continue heating in short increments, stirring frequently until fully melted and smooth.
  6. Melt Pink Candy Melts: In a separate microwave-safe bowl, heat the pink candy melts starting with 30 seconds, then proceed in 15-20 second increments, stirring well after each until smooth and melted.
  7. Layer White Chocolate: Quickly pour the melted white chocolate over the dark chocolate layer and spread evenly. Work swiftly as this layer hardens rapidly.
  8. Drizzle Pink Candy: Immediately drizzle the melted pink candy melts over the white chocolate layer.
  9. Create Marble Pattern: Use a toothpick to gently swirl through the pink and white layers to create a marble effect, avoiding disturbing the dark chocolate underneath.
  10. Add Toppings: While the chocolate is still warm, sprinkle the Valentine’s Day candy and sprinkles evenly over the top.
  11. Cool Completely: Allow the bark to cool for 30 minutes at room temperature or until fully hardened.
  12. Serve: Once set, break or cut the bark into pieces and serve.

Notes

  • Store bark in an airtight container at room temperature for 4-5 days or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
  • Freeze in a freezer-safe container for up to 4 months.
  • Adjust serving size by breaking bark into smaller or larger pieces as desired.
  • Leaving parchment paper overhang helps to easily lift the hardened bark from the pan.
  • Heat chocolate and candy melts slowly in short intervals with stirring to avoid seizing or clumping.
  • For best layers bonding, add next layers when previous ones are almost set but slightly tacky, not fully hardened.
